Abu Dhabi: Aldar, PureHealth join forces to build health longevity and sustainable living communities
Technology and preventive care integrated into everyday neighbourhood living
ABU DHABI – Aldar and PureHealth have entered into a strategic partnership to create health longevity-focused communities in Abu Dhabi, embedding technology, healthcare and wellness into every aspect of daily life.
The collaboration is among the first of its kind, bringing together expertise in healthcare, longevity science and master-planned urban development to redefine how communities are designed for healthier living.
The initiative also supports the UAE's ambition to become a global leader in health longevity and sustainable living, in line with the National Strategy for Wellbeing 2031 and Abu Dhabi's Longevity and Precision Medicine Declaration.
New model
The partnership combines PureHealth's leadership in healthcare and health longevity science with Aldar's experience in developing integrated, human-centric communities. Together, the organisations aim to create a new model for wellness-driven living environments where preventive healthcare and wellbeing are woven into the design of homes, neighbourhoods and public spaces.
The collaboration will explore innovative ways to integrate wellness into daily life, ensuring that health-supporting features are considered from the earliest stages of community planning. By combining PureHealth's clinical expertise with Aldar's data-driven approach to development, the partners intend to transform advances in longevity science into practical and scalable solutions that improve quality of life while fostering healthier and more connected communities.
Rashed AlQubaisi, Group Chief Operating Officer of PureHealth, said the partnership marked a significant milestone in the company's mission to integrate health into every aspect of everyday life.
Supported by PureHealth's Pura Clinic, the region's centre for precision health and health longevity science, the initiative will introduce innovations ranging from advanced air quality systems and smart beds to smart mirrors capable of providing real-time, contactless health insights. He added that the collaboration represents a strong example of cross-sector innovation aligned with the UAE's national goals for improving population health and advancing health longevity.
Future communities
Jonathan Emery, Chief Executive Officer of Aldar Development, said the partnership reflects a shared belief that wellbeing should be built into the places people call home.
He said Aldar considers wellness a defining principle in the planning, design and operation of its destinations. Working alongside PureHealth, the company aims to create communities that help residents live healthier, longer and more connected lives while strengthening Abu Dhabi's reputation as a global benchmark for sustainable, human-centric development.
The agreement also provides opportunities for joint research, knowledge sharing and outcome measurement, reinforcing both organisations' commitment to innovation, evidence-based decision-making and long-term community wellbeing. As the partnership progresses, Aldar and PureHealth will evaluate pilot initiatives across selected communities and assets to shape future models that combine healthcare, technology and the built environment.
Health design
The initiative comes as growing evidence highlights the importance of the built environment in supporting long-term health. Globally, people spend up to 90 per cent of their time indoors, making factors such as indoor air quality, safe water, natural daylight and access to greenery increasingly important, particularly in hot climates such as the UAE.
By incorporating health longevity principles into infrastructure and urban planning, Aldar and PureHealth aim to develop environments that promote wellness, strengthen community resilience and improve health outcomes. Through linking healthcare with real estate, the partnership also seeks to generate long-term community and economic value while reinforcing Abu Dhabi and the UAE's position as global hubs for life sciences, innovation and sustainable living.
